CalDigit TS5 vs TS5 Plus: What Changes for MacBook Pro M5 Pro?
Both the CalDigit TS5 and TS5 Plus can support three external displays from a MacBook Pro with M5 Pro. The main differences are not the basic three-monitor capability — they are ports, Ethernet speed, USB connectivity, accessory charging and how the displays physically connect.
The short answer
If your main requirement is simply running three external displays from an M5 Pro MacBook Pro, both docks have documented support for that setup.
The TS5 Plus adds more total ports, faster Ethernet, substantially more USB connectivity, a dedicated DisplayPort connector and higher charging power from its downstream Thunderbolt ports.
The TS5 instead provides three downstream Thunderbolt 5 ports in a smaller 15-port design.

Can both run three monitors on M5 Pro?
Yes.

The three-monitor connection layout is different
TS5
The TS5 does not have a dedicated full-size DisplayPort connector.
Its display paths come through the downstream Thunderbolt 5 ports, so monitors without USB-C or Thunderbolt video inputs may require compatible USB-C-to-DisplayPort or USB-C-to-HDMI adapters.
TS5 Plus
The TS5 Plus provides two downstream Thunderbolt 5 ports plus a dedicated DisplayPort 2.1 connector.
For a three-monitor setup, this can provide a more direct connection layout when one of the monitors already has DisplayPort.
Ethernet is one of the largest differences
The TS5 provides 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet.
The TS5 Plus provides 10 Gigabit Ethernet and is backward compatible with slower Ethernet networks.
The faster interface matters only if the rest of the network can use it. A 10GbE dock does not make a 1GbE internet connection or network device operate at 10Gb/s.
TS5 Plus has substantially more USB connectivity
The TS5 Plus provides five 10Gb/s USB-C ports and five 10Gb/s USB-A ports.
The TS5 provides three 10Gb/s USB-C ports, two 10Gb/s USB-A ports and one additional USB 2.0 USB-A port.
CalDigit also equips the TS5 Plus with dual USB 10Gb/s controllers. This is intended to increase available USB throughput when multiple fast USB devices are being used simultaneously.
MacBook charging is the same; accessory charging is not
Both docks document up to 140W of host charging through the Thunderbolt connection to the MacBook.
The difference is on the downstream side.
The TS5 provides up to 15W from each downstream Thunderbolt 5 port, while the TS5 Plus provides up to 36W from each downstream Thunderbolt 5 port.
The TS5 Plus also provides a front 36W USB-C charging port, compared with a 20W front USB-C port on the TS5.
